Patients First welcomes Liz Stockley to the Board
We are delighted to announce that Liz Stockley has joined the Patients First Board. Liz was appointed in mid-February 2020 and said she looks forward to bringing her “experience of organised primary care and governance to support the next steps in the evolution of the organisation.”
Liz has been part of the health sector since 2012 and one of her motivations is to help people. She said, “Health affects everyone, and whilst I’m not a clinician saving lives, I am motivated by using my skills to make things a bit better for New Zealanders.”
Liz brings a broad background in business and local government to the Board table. She’s held senior roles in PHOs, including CEO of Health Hawke’s Bay and Director of Primary Care – Wairarapa for Tū Ora Compass Health. Currently, she is the CEO of General Practice New Zealand, which Patients First is wholly owned by.
This is a momentous year for Patients First; it has relinquished its commercial interests and is concentrating on its work in ‘the commons’, as part of a renewed focus on its core role in the health sector. Liz said, “It’s exciting to be involved with the team supporting primary health care”. Welcome Liz!
