Following the announcement from departing CEO, Helmut Modlik, Patients First are seeking applications for a replacement Chief Executive Officer.

Patients First is a not-for-profit company supporting national programmes of work that integrate information across the health sector. Its scope extends to all care settings in the community including Community Pharmacy, Allied Health and NGO. We put patients at the centre of care and support health professionals to deliver integrated care through better systems and information. We are a developing business that has built a strong reputation for success and delivery. We hold contracts with the Ministry of Health that place us as a key part of some innovative national and regional initiatives and we advise other agencies on matters relating to the use of health information in all settings.
As CEO of a small but busy organisation your role will be broad and traverse information standards, project delivery, strategy and you will act as a conduit between national and local levels. It includes advice to the Ministry of Health, national agencies and the sector regarding health information management in primary care while also having oversight and accountability for key projects.
It’s a role that requires exceptional relationship management skills with a cross section of stakeholders including executive and clinical leaders, information managers and your own small team of staff and contractors. It also requires:
- The ability to influence and negotiate
- Strong commercial awareness
- Big picture thinking as well as attention to detail
- A focus on delivery, pace, completion and achievement
- Ability to generate business and secure sustainable funding
