The Community Services Card (CSC) supports the cardholder and their family by reducing the cost of some health services and prescriptions. Work and Income administers the CSC on behalf of the Ministry of Health.
The CSC is for people who are on a low income, living in public housing, or receiving an accommodation supplement.
Patients First has a key role to assist the health sector to give effect to Government policy such as the CSC. For example, we engage with healthcare software vendors to ensure the software meets and supports the Government’s policy requirements.
The goal of the CSC is to reduce the costs of many healthcare related services, such as visits to their GP, glasses for children, emergency dental care or home help.
More information about the CSC is available on the Ministry of Health’s website.
